Ansar and VDP's responsibilities:

1. Ansar and VDP's responsibility to help the army to protect the country's sovereignty and sovereignty

History

The Ansar Bahini was established on 12 February 1948 and it was implemented on June 17, 1948, when the Ansar Act was approved in the East Bengal Legislative Assembly. Since then, the training program of this force was temporarily held in Dhaka's Shahbagh. During the Pakistan-India war in 1965, the Ansar was entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the Ansar in the border outposts of the country. Following the oath of Bangladesh's first temporary government (Mujibnagar) in the war of liberation, the Ansar Platoon gave the Guard of Honor to the President of 12 Ansar Force under the leadership of Commander Yad Ali. During the war of independence, Ansar Bahini was declared a rebel and was abolished. The Ansar members took part in the liberation war with about 40 thousand rifles. In the war, 970 officers, 4 employees and 657 Ansar were killed and 670 were martyred. One of the force, Bir Bikram and two of the Bir Prakike were awarded the title. After the independence of Bangladesh, training programs of Ansar Bahar were conducted in Savar from Dhaka in 1973 to 1975. In 1976, the Village Defense Party (VDP) and the City Defense Group (TDP) were formed in 1980. Later, these two forces were merged with Ansar Bahini. In 1976, National Ansar Training Center (NATC) was established in Safipur, Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur district. In 1983, it was named Ansar Training School. In 1986, Ansar Training School was upgraded to the Ansar Academy. It was named as Ansar-VDP Academy in 1995. The force is currently being run by the Ansar Bahini Act, 1995 and the Battalion Ansar Act, 1995, which was approved by the Parliament, was approved by the Honorable President on February 15, 1995 and effective from 16 February 1995. According to these two laws, a disciplined army of Ansar's forces, according to the provisions of Article 152 of the Constitution,

 

Organizational activities:

The current number of members of the Village Defense Force is 5.6 million, of which 50 percent women Each VDP unit consists of equal number of women and men. For every village, there is a platoon male and a platoon female member, in every ward of every city of Bangladesh there is a male and a female platoon. Under the leadership of the Union level, there is a male and a female union leader in every union. The Director General of Bangladesh Ansar is also the head of the Village Defense Forces. Major General Mizanur Rahman Khan is presently in charge of the charge.
